Procesos de diagénesis temprana en el NW de la estructura pockmark “Gran Burato” en la Zona de Transición del Margen Continental de Galicia

Zusammenfassung
In this work, high resolution geochemical data sensitive to redox changes (Mn, Fe, Cr, Pb, V and Ba) were obtained using the ItraxTM Core Scanner, that combined with colour data , scanning electron microscopy observations and the determination of the total organic carbon (TOC) and the total inorganic carbon (TIC) have allowed characterizing the early diagenesis processes in one core extracted at NW of the pockmark structure “Gran Burato” in the Transitional zone of the Galician continental margin. The results show several oxidations fronts that have been recognized along the whole core, which suggested that the steady-state diagenesis has not been reached because the redoxcline has not achieved the deeper equilibrium due to fluid escape processes that cause the continuous oxygenation of the sediment.
