Resum

This article studies the potential for social innovation present in the initiatives of the participants in the Laboratorios Vivos de Innovación y Cultura [Living Labs for Innovation and Culture] training programme, as a result of processes of social appropriation of knowledge, revaluation of cultural manifestations and use of ICT. To this end, we analyze the process of social innovation by identifying and characterizing its stages, the pedagogical strategies implemented in each of them and the evaluation of their potential, based on the proposals of Murray, Caulier-Grice and Mulgan (2010); using a qualitative-descriptive methodology, through the analysis and documentary review of empirical materials generated by the participants of the training program. Finally, it was concluded that these initiatives present a social innovation component insofar as they show a process of social appropriation of knowledge and culture; while promoting alternative solutions to sensitive issues for communities
