Resumo

This thesis analyzes the differents relationships that the photography médium establishes between the concepts of reality, identity, time and body in contemporary art. Our research is structured around five chapters, it has focused on the study of photography in contemporary art during the years 1950 and 2010, in orderto examine in a specific way the contemporary Andalusian photography. We have analyzed tha modes of representation of reality through photography; the relation of photography with the human body and te representation of identity through portrait; and photography understood as a conceptual tool in contemporary art, which allows us to conceive of this medium as a tool in the service of plastic creation. A heterogeneous instrument that is built by the influence of different disciplines (painting, performance, video, drawing). Our synthetic methodology has allowed us to perform a critical analysis of the object of study, which has served to address a qualitative research –to analyze and compare the data obtained. The main contribution of our research has been to obtain a critical review of there presentational capacities of the photographic medium, in relation to the real, and the concepts of identity, space and time applied to the image of the body.
