Resumo

Homework is one of the most controversial issues in education. This research includes a series of contributions from various authors, mentioning characteristics, classification, advantages and disadvantages, as well as a brief overview of homework at the national and international level, and its relationship with school failure. A methodology based on a non-probabilistic convenience sampling is used, using an ad hoc questionnaire as a tool in a sample of 28 teachers, adopting a comparative view between the various variables associated with homework, taking into account gender and teaching experience. From the questionnaires, the different results that have shown, from the teaching perspective, the need to maintain homework in classrooms are extracted, since they serve to expand and reinforce content, their main purpose being to generate study habits.
