Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport that requires high-difficulty motor skills and perfect execution. The body is considered as a yoga and mind therapy that for many researchers influences the improvement of sports performance. In this work we analyze the effect of a Yoga training on sports performance and the psychological variables related to it. Thirty gymnasts between the ages of 11 and 16 participated, doing a weekly Yoga session for 5 months, in addition to the Rhythmic Gymnastics training. We analyze the changes in performance and in the psychological variables studied before and after the intervention. The results obtained indicatea significant improvement in both parameters. Conclusions: the gymnasts participating in our study significantly improve their performance after the intervention, which may suggest, without generalizing, the advantages of including a yoga exercise programin their preparation
