Abstract

Industrial animal farming is a way of producing meat with an increasing reach within Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. This transformation is particularity acute on the porcine sector. Given its animal concentration, this model tends to promote zoonosis. This paper explores how the social movements opposed to porcine industrial farming articulate a struggle motivated by concerns about human and environmental health.
