Docteur à l Universidade de Vigo avec la thèse Aplicación de microsatélites en estimas de flujo génico y estructura poblacional de mytilus galloprovincialis 2005. Dirigée par Dr. Pablo Presa Martínez.

Ángel Pérez Diz is an associate professor of Genetics at the University of Vigo in Spain. His research interests are focused on the field of evolutionary biology, specifically on understanding the functional consequences of genetic changes and the molecular mechanisms underlying the processes of reproductive isolation, adaptation, and ultimately, speciation. He is also interested in understanding basic aspects of reproductive biology, including the molecular mechanisms underlying doubly uniparental inheritance (DUI) of mtDNA, coevolution of nuclear and mitochondrial genomes, as well as the effects of climate change and pollution at the molecular level in marine organisms. To advance in this direction, he is currently using multi-omics approaches.
