Andrés Rodríguez Seijo holds a Ph.D in Terrestrial Ecosystems from Universidade de Vigo (Spain). Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Sciences (UVIGO). His research has been focused on the impact of heavy metals on urban and military shooting range areas. After he concluded his PhD in 2016, he worked as a postdoc and junior researcher at the Universidade do Porto (Portugal), focusing on the impact of microplastics on soil systems. Since 2022, the interest in emerging contaminants has been extended to antibiotics, and his latest research is focused on the anthropogenic impacts on soil biodiversity. He's author/co-author of more than 54 articles (51 WoS) and 13 book chapters. His work received more than 1700 citations. He has 63 communications at national and international conferences/workshops, and he has participated in more than 20 national and international projects from different funding sources, three as PI. He's a frequent reviewer for various journals and international grant agencies. Finally, he has teaching experience in different subjects related to environmental sciences at the BSc and MSc levels.
