Resumo

Temporomandibular disorders include several musculoskeletal affectations which could influence the neck. The aim of this study is to analyze the scientific literature about the association between temporomandibular disorders and neck pain. A systematic search was carried out in PubMed and Cinhal, obtaining 16 articles after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. All of them established the relationship between neck pain and temporomandibular disorders. In conclusion, the proximity between both areas, their muscular and articular relations and the psychological factors evidence the association between both disorders.
