José Montero Reguera is Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Vigo, and Dean of its Faculty of Philology and Translation. He also was teacher at the universities of Valladolid, Münster (Germany) and Carleton (Ottawa, Canada). Director of Anales Cervantinos (CSIC, FECYT "sello de calidad") since 2019, he is former president of the "Asociación de Cervantistas" (2004-2012) and its honorary President, as well as honorary director of Hesperia, Anuario de Filología Hispánica (Vigo), which he directed for twenty-five years. His career in the field of literary studies dates back to the 1990s, when his monograph El Quijote y la crítica contemporáneo won the R.A.E. Fernández Abril Award (1995). Almost a dozen books and close to two hundred publications support an intense academic and research activity in which outstand his editions of Cervantes's "Novelas Ejemplares" (Penguin Clásicos, 2015), Viaje del Parnaso y poesías sueltas (R. A. E., 2016); Ruiz de Alarcón's, La verdad sospecha (R.A.E., 2019) and his collaboration in Don Quixote at the Instituto Cervantes, in its three editions (Crítica, 1998; Círculo de Lectores, 2004; R.A.E., 2015).
