MIQUEL VERGES

Studies related to Mathematics, Computer Science, Cognitive Sciences, and Philology. Graduated in Philology from UB (1992) and PhD in Philology from URV (1997). Between 1992 and 1996, I was an FPI predoctoral fellow abroad in the Department of Linguistics at UB. I carried out research stays in the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1993); in the Faculties of Mathematics and Humanities at the University of Bucharest (1993); at the CCS and HCRC of the University of Edinburgh (1994); in the Faculty of Mathematics and TUCS at the University of Turku (Finland, 1995); and at ITESM in Monterrey and Mexico City (1996). On 01/03/1997, I obtained an FPI postdoctoral fellowship abroad at the University of Turku, but I declined it and joined as an associate professor in the Faculty of Philology and Translation at UVigo. Subsequently, I became an interim associate professor (1997) and, finally, a tenured associate professor (1999).
