Doctor by the Universidade de Vigo with the thesis Modelling and numerical approach of aortic valve stages healthy, stenotic and transcatheter replaced (tavi) 2020. Supervised by Dr. Generosa Fernández Manín, Dr. César Gabriel Veiga García.

Doctor in Applied Mathematics to Cardiology, with an extensive academic background that includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, a Master’s Degree in Industrial Mathematics, and a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training, along with numerous courses in teaching and professional development. His research career is characterized by interdisciplinarity, applying mathematical methods in the field of cardiology to simulate and better understand pathologies such as aortic stenosis or the effects of valve replacement through TAVI. Between 2016 and 2020, he developed his doctoral thesis at the Galicia Sur Health Research Institute (IISGS) in collaboration with the Department of Applied Mathematics II at the University of Vigo. This project, funded through various contracts and grants (Ministry of Science, Xunta de Galicia, GAIN, etc), demonstrated the importance of mathematics in medicine, providing new tools for the study and understanding of cardiovascular diseases. His international experience is reinforced by research stays at prestigious institutions such as the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague in 2015 and the Center for Computational Medicine in Cardiology (CCMC) in Lugano in 2018. Furthermore, he has presented his work at numerous international conferences, receiving the Best Poster Award in Numerical Simulation at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2018 in Munich. His commitment to research is evident in his participation in projects funded by public institutions and in the recognition of his career through a research evaluation period ("sexenio"). After defending his thesis, he combined his passion for mathematics and teaching, working in secondary education before joining the Department of Mathematics Didactics as an Assistant Professor at the University of Vigo in 2023. Since 2024, he has been a member of the RIME Teaching Innovation Group and the RITME Research Group at the Faculty of Education and Social Work, contributing to the advancement of mathematics education and dissemination.
